Obtaining a Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) is easy. Simply follow the steps described below and your LEI number will be sent to you within 1-24 hours.

Simplified LEI application to an entity without a parent company
STEP ONE: Fill in the LEI application form
In order to apply for a new LEI number, you’ll first need to fill in the blanks in the LEI number registration application form:
Next, after filling the form, we’ll ask you to answer a couple of questions about your company.
Q1: Is the headquarters address identical to company’s legal address?
If the headquarters address is identical to the company’s legal address, then click “YES” and move on to the Q2.
If the headquarters address is different from entity’s legal address, then click “NO” and on the line below insert headquarters legal address.
Q2: Is more than half (>50%) of the company owned by another company?
If more than 50% of your company is not owned by another company then click “NO” and move on to the Q3. If more than 50% of your company is owned by another company, then please continue to read section two – LEI application to an entity with a parent company.
Q3: Documents to prove the registration of the company.
Please upload the documents to prove the registration of the company. For example, GST Certificate, IEC details, Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum.
Finally, by clicking CONFIRM & CONTINUE you’ll accept the Terms & Conditions of LEI Register and give us permission to apply for an LEI number and to contact you in case we need your signature.
STEP TWO: Data Validation
Choose LEI registration period
Before checking out we’ll ask you to select your LEI registration period.
You may choose between a one, three- or five-year registration period by clicking on the appropriate one.
You can pay by credit card or PayPal and your LEI application will be processed as soon as the payment has been submitted.
STEP THREE: Confirmation
With 1-24 hours we’ll send you the confirmation along with your LEI number to your provided e-mail address. Average delivery time is 3-4 hours.
After receiving the confirmation certificate, you can check your LEI number validity on our LEI search page or on our homepage in the top right corner by simply typing in your LEI number or company name.

On LEI Register homepage click on the LEI SEARCH button, which will take you to the LEI search page. You now can check your LEI number validity by simply scrolling or typing in your LEI number or company name.

You can do that by typing in your LEI number or company name in the search bar located on the homepage in the top right corner.

LEI application to an entity with a parent company
STEP ONE: Fill in the LEI application form
In order to apply for a new LEI number, you’ll first need to fill in the blanks in the LEI number registration application form:
Next, after filling the form, we’ll ask you to answer a couple of questions about your company.
Q1: Is the headquarters address identical to company’s legal address?
If the headquarters address is identical to the company’s legal address, then click “YES” and move on to the Q2.
If the headquarters address is different from entity’s legal address, then click “NO” and on the line below insert headquarters legal address.
Q2: Is more than half (>50%) of the company owned by another company?
If more than 50% your company is not owned by another company then click “NO” and move on to the Q8 (skip Q3-Q7).
In case more than 50% of your company is owned by another company then click “YES” and move on to the Q3.
Q3: Does the parent consolidate financial statements/annual reports?
If the answer to the above-mentioned question is negative, then click “NO” and move on to Q8 (skip Q4-Q7).
If the parent consolidates financial statements/ annual reports, then click “YES” and move on to the Q4.
Q4: Additional information about the parent entity.
If you can’t give any additional information about the parent entity, then click “NO”.
Additionally, we’ll ask you to give a reason for not providing details about the parent company. Please select the most suitable option from the list and move on to Q8 (skip Q5-Q7).
If you are able to provide details of the parent entity, then please click “YES” and move on to Q5.
Q5: Additional information about the parent company.
Please fill in the blanks in the parent company form. Additional information needed is: parent company name, address, accounting period and the date when the mother-daughter relationship first started. In addition, we’ll ask you to upload documents to prove the relationship. You now can move to Q6.
Q6: Is the parent company ultimate consolidation parent?
If the answer to the above-mentioned question is “YES”, then please click accordingly and move to the Q8 (skip Q7).
If the parent company is not the ultimate consolidation parent, then please click “NO” and move to the Q7.
Q7: Additional information about the ultimate parent company.
Please fill in the blanks in the ultimate parent company form. Additional information needed is: ultimate parent company name, address, accounting period and the date when the mother-daughter relationship first started. In addition, we’ll ask you to upload consolidated financial statements to prove the relationship. You now can move to Q8.
Q8: Documents to prove the registration of the company.
Please upload the documents to prove the registration of the company. For example, GST Certificate, IEC details, Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum.
